Many people who are looking to meet someone online are seeking serious, long-term relationships, but there are just as many single find women and men who are looking for more casual dating situations. A host of new dating sites has arisen on the Internet that caters to bringing together singles who are seeking more relaxed encounters.

The new class of dating sites is, collectively, known as Casual Dating Sites and they are gaining more popularity versus the more common casual dating sites with which most of us are familiar. In essence, casual dating sites fill a need that some traditional dating sites may not.

In this type of dating situation, either party is free to end the relationship at any point. Casual Dating used to be referred to as ‘no string attached’ dating. Even though the people involved in casual relationships are involved sexually, generally the term ‘casual’, implies that one or both people may be looking for a sexual relationship. Although casual dating has taken on a sexual connotation in recent years, we don’t feel that, necessarily, single dating men and women looking for this type of situation are always simply looking to only hook-up.

Like it or not, some people turn to the internet to make friends and not necessarily to form a long-term serious relationship. So whether you are looking to make friends online dating or hook up online, casual dating sites fill the void left behind by some traditional dating sites.

It’s not that you can’t find a single man or woman on a traditional dating site for this type of situation; it just may be harder to weed through all of the online profiles on a typical dating site to find someone who is seeking the same type of arrangement.
